A very pleasurable part of TP's career was his radio work, but on this occasion he's merely faking it. It's a real studio alright, but the mic is a prop and he's pictured in a scene from the short film, A Child's Voice, which he made with independent film maker, Kieran Hickey. He plays a Valentine Dyall figure, an actor called Ainsley Rupert Macreadie, who writes and reads late night ghost stories on the radio. His latest story involves a magician and the young boy he employs for his newest sleight of hand involving a box into which he makes the child disappear. However, there's a chilling twist in the tale when the storyteller becomes haunted by the voice of the child who begs not to go back into the box.
A Child's Voice won the Chicago Film Festival Award in 1978.
